One of my goals for 2014 was to be healthier. So after overindulging during the holidays (our holiday season goes until Three Kings Day on January 6th) Esther and I agreed to go back on Weight Watchers.
For the past 15 to 20 years I’ve lost 200 pounds, 20 pounds 10 times. I’ve tried the Atkins Diet, the South Beach Diet and a few others and although they worked for a short time they weren’t the answer.
When I first joined Weight Watchers a friend asked me, “Why are you there? Those meetings are full of fat women talking about recipes for low-fat muffins.” After finding a recipe for fat-free muffins online and sending it to her, I showed her my progress on my tracker and a picture of me before I started the program.
When I follow the program, it’s worked for me. Esther and I rejoined Weight Watchers last year on New Year’s Day — following the program I lost 45 pounds. Then I fell off the wagon and gained back 16 pounds after a series of difficult family issues last summer.
This morning I weighed in at 200 pounds even. To keep me honest, I plan to post the results of my weekly weigh-ins. Hopefully it keeps me on program and if it motivates a few along the way even better.

Congratulations on taking steps in the right direction! After playing the “follow the bouncing ball weight loss game” for longer than I can remember, I finally settled on WW 3 years ago now. With a few setbacks included, it’s the only time I’ve ever been able to lose the pounds and keep them off. It’s still a daily struggle, but you have a great program on your side. Best of luck!
