My name is Janelle and I live in Philadelphia, PA. Run With No Regrets is the story of my running journey as I’ve battled various injuries as a new runner. It’s a place for sharing fitness ideas, nutrition tips, and an overall positive outlook towards any challenge!
In 2006, as a 36-year-old overweight guy with high cholesterol and a pack-and-a-half-a-day smoking habit, I decided that I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. At that time, not only did I change almost all of my bad habits, but I decided to get into shape.
As of this writing, I’m a 10-time marathoner, four Olympic distance and five Sprint distance triathlon finisher, and runner of more 13.1s, 10Ks and five milers than I can count.
On average I run 35 miles each week (but that can ratchet up to 50 during peak marathon training) and between 50 – 100 miles on the bike. I’m a part time blogger and a full time endurance sports enthusiast living in New York City; my daytime job is in PR and marketing.
In October, I was written up in Runner’s World magazine in the “How Running Changed My Life” column. You can see the article here http://bit.ly/1fdWQSj.
I’m interested in technology and love looking at the numbers after my workouts – if I’m not running or riding with my GPS device, it doesn’t count.
I’m also obsessive about researching and trying out new kinds of on-course nutrition, new clothing, different types of shoes, and all the accouterment that we “need” for endurance sports.
On my social channels, I discuss everything running, cycling and (sometimes) swimming. From technology and music to nutrition and training to finding the perfect shoe, finding the right group to work out with every week or even the motivation to do so – nothing is off limits.
I also review races and marathons I participate in (and some I’ve already done).
Designer. Marathoner. New Yorker. This is my little patch of the Information Highway. And it’s kind of amazing. Just sayin.
I am a twenty-something that recently picked up running in the last two years. After starting running, I became motivated to lead a healthier lifestyle overall. I am certainly no expert and don’t always make the healthiest choices, but I am always working towards a healthier me! Besides being a runner, and cook-in-training, I am also an elementary teacher, and love it dearly. Please feel free to contact me, I would love to get to know you!

In 2011, I packed up my Boston life and moved to New York.
By March of 2012, I reconnected with two of my best friends and started a more focused running regimen. I’d like to say that I began running “more seriously” but, honestly, I have so much fun running – most of the time – that to call it a “serious” pursuit is to be somewhat hyperbolic.
I have officially completely two half marathons, one “official” 10K, covered four out of the five boroughs and pounded out countless miles as part of my first marathon training. Yes, folks, that first marathon was supposed to be the New York Marathon in 2012.
I did not make it to the starting line of the Miami Marathon in January 2013 because I was sick.
I did not run the New Jersey marathon in May 2013 because it was too expensive.
I finally became a marathoner on May 4th 2013 when I planned and ran 26.2 miles around New York City with the gracious help of my friends. Time: approximately 4:10.
I’m either baking cookies or burning calories! My blog is a collection of race reports and fun recipes. In between, I celebrate the laughable moments in fitness, training, and baking.
Feel free to contact me for information on races I’ve run or any of the recipes I put up!
I’m a newlywed wife, runner, vegetarian, mommy of two cute kitties, an information architect by day and a resident of central Pennsylvania.
I’m a forty-something runner living in Jamaica Estates with my wife Esther and our dog Chico. I’ve run distances from 1 mile to a 60K race, finishing 10 marathons and 31 half marathons and 1 ultra, many as a back of the pack runner.
I don’t race others — I race myself in a never-ending quest toward self-improvement and finishing in the middle of the pack battling aging, weight gain and those nagging “voices” telling me to stop.
Blogging allows me to share my thoughts and opinions — maybe motivating a few along the way. My posts are personal experiences or those of others, race reports or maybe something quirky.
