I’m from Clearwater, Florida and I’m a woman in her forties who loves to run.    I write a lot about running and racing and my adventures along the way and I tend to hum alot, something that I am completely unaware I’m doing.  It’s usually only annoying to those who live with me, my family, or the people who run behind me.  Follow me on my journey to stay healthy and fit while I drive everyone else insane.

I may not look like it, but I am a runner in the mid-south. I am happily married, and obsessed with all things sports and Seinfeld related.  My blog is dedicated to anyone that is not your prototypical runner, but loves running anyways.  I track my progress of tackling multiple races and training.  There are tips, pics, personal experiences, and tons of other musings about running as well as other topics that I may find interesting.

Website: 14 Half Marathons in 2014

By God’s grace, I’m a daughter, partner, mother & grandmother; church praise team drummer & recommitted runner ♥

On August 28, 2012, I was in a near fatal car accident. Prior to that time, I was a half marathon runner. When they took the top of my car off to get me out, they realized the dashboard was crushing my legs, so the emergency crew attached a chain to their truck and pulled the front of my car and dashboard off my legs. I was taken by helicopter to the local trauma center where I was treated for an open book pelvic fracture, fractured tailbone, fractured sacrum, crushed knee cap, fractured knee, fractured nose, and a fractured eye orbit.   I was in the trauma center for several weeks and then transferred to a rehab center for a few more weeks. I was wheelchair-bound for the rest of 2012 and began with a cane in 2013.

The doctors told me I would never run again due to my injuries. In February of 2013, I walked and completed a 5k, and in October of 2013, I ran/walked a half marathon.   I was the 7th finisher from the end – the key word being “finisher” – with a time of 3:25:33. I next completed the Space Coast Half Marathon on December 1st and the Holiday Halfathon on December 16th.  If all goes well, my goal is to participate in at least 14 half marathons in 2014, along with local 5ks and somehow find a way to level up in Half Fanatics too!!

Website: Get Running...

I started running as a Sophomore in High School in 1997 and, after a rocky start, realized I had found a sport I loved.  I was lucky enough to have some success in high school and went on to run at the college level at Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY. After I graduated from Bellarmine in 2004, I began working there as an assistant coach, a job I held for 6 years.  In that time I was lucky enough to work with some great runners, and help guide Bellarmine’s men to their first appearance in the NCAA Division II National Championship in over 20 years.

In 2011 I was hired as a History teacher and Head Cross Country Coach at Shelby County High School in Shelbyville, KY.  I coach a great group of high school and middle school runners and have seen vast improvement from these kids in the time I’ve been with them.

As a post-collegiate runner I have had my ups and downs.  In 2006 I set PR’s in every event I ran, including a 4:10 mile.  Since then I have suffered a series of injuries and setbacks and am now trying to have one last great stretch of competitive running while I am young enough to set PR’s.  I am mostly training for marathons and 1/2 marathons but will throw in some shorter races on a regular basis.

This blog will mostly cover my training, but will also give an idea of some of the work I do with my high school runners.  I am always happy to give coaching and training advice, and love to read stories of success from runners of every level.

Hey there! I’m Ashley; I’ve lived all over the great state of Alabama (from Huntsville to the Gulf Coast) but now make my home in lovely Auburn, AL — home to Auburn University — with my amazing husband Cody. Love those Auburn Tigers & my favorite pro sports team is the New Orleans Saints. Whodat?!?!

My job as a business litigator keeps me busy, so to keep it balanced, I’ve been working out for a while now — mainly plyometrics, boot camps and body weight stuff.  I generally just stuck to shorter mileage when it came to running and didn’t look especially forward to it. Something clicked with me when I decided to train for my first half-marathon. I loved it and completed 3 more in 2013.  I also joined the Oiselle Volée team – a group of women runners from all over the country who love to run, race and rock Oiselle apparel!  For 2014, I am setting a goal of 14 half marathons completed for the year…stay tuned to see if I can do it!

I’m an incredibly blessed mother of two kids and I LOVE running! I dream to one day qualify for the Olympic Trials, maybe in 2016 if I work hard enough. I’m a little goofy, a perfectionist and very driven. This blog is about my life and journey with running after having my two beautiful children, health & fitness and anything else that is running related.

Heya. I’m Jamie. I’m a city girl, living in a screwed up world trying to make it day to day without killing someone.

So far, so good.

I currently work in television news as a Social Media Producer who happens to also producer the 9am hour of The Morning Show on Saturday mornings. Kind of ruins my race schedule, but hey! It’s a full time job that I enjoy. I am a rocker girl with hippie tendencies, have a really strange and sarcastic sense of humor, tend to curse like a sailor, have a love affair with tattoos and piercings, am known to do really random and crazy things to my hair without warning, am an avid runner and road racer, believe that life should come complete with your own soundtrack (which makes me a total music whore), am a writer extraordinaire, an up and coming photographer, a killer baker, am a day dreamer, am a lover of the darker things in life, believe that all problems can be solved with a bowl of ice cream, and am a self admitted Negative Nancy. But I’m working on that last one.

I have been running since 2011 and blogging since 2013.  I am passionate about running; health; my husband, a fellow runner; my 6 cats, and my job as a water resource manager.  I don’t know everything about running but I like making light of the situations and observations about being a runner and being in my 40′s.  I enjoy running 5Ks to Half Marathons.  I am a Sweat Pink Ambassador and I like hearing about other folks running stories.

I am a young mother of one right now. I was an athletic teenage but once I got to college I was over that. I have picked up running races in 2013 and I am working to complete 13 in 2013. I am having a great journey towards my running goals. I am apart of a local running club for mama’s that are very encouraging.

I am also on a weight loss journey. I am looking to loose about 100 pounds by the summer of 2016.
