Hello! I am Jackie a runner from Michigan. I have been a competitive runner since I was 12 years old and wrapped up my career as a varsity athlete at Ferris State University. I feel I have a unique perspective on training because after college I took a considerable amount of time off going from a competitive 5ker to a runner who struggled finishing 3 miles.
I am now back at it and working my hardest! I am constantly making new goals to get myself back to where I want to be. My blog is all about my goals in running as well as my work life and hobbies!
David Hansen is Education Outreach Associate for Great Lakes Theater, a member of the Cleveland Play House Playwrights Unit and the Dramatists Guild of America. David is a 2010 Creative Workforce Fellow, a program of the Community Partnership for Arts and Culture, generously funded by Cuyahoga Arts and Culture.
In the early 90s David was a co-founder of Guerrilla Theater Company, creating political satire for cabaret’s You Have the Right to Remain Silent! and Mind Your Own Business. He founded Dobama’s Night Kitchen in 1995, working with other young playwrights and actors on collaborations like The Gulf and This Vicious Cabaret. David was also Artistic Director for Bad Epitaph Theater Company.
His solo performance I Hate This: A Play Without The Baby was named one of the 10 Best Plays of 2003 by The Plain Dealer, and received an award for Excellence in Solo Performance at the New York International Fringe Festival. I Hate This has also been performed in Columbus, Akron, Chicago, Louisville, Minneapolis and a seven-date tour of Great Britain. His most recent solo project, And Then You Die (How I Ran a Marathon in 26.2 Years) was produced at the 2009 New York International Fringe Festival. Both I Hate This and And Then You Die were presented together as a single evening of theater at Cleveland Public Theatre in 2011.
Since 2001, David has been a member of the Great Lakes Theater Education Department. As an actor-teacher and Supervisor of GLT’s school residency program, David has worked with thousands of students in Northeast Ohio. He has also been a member of the educational theater department at Karamu House.
David has directed the radio dramas Fortitude by Kurt Vonnegut and Eric Coble’s adaptation of The Machine Stops for WCPN 90.3 ideastream, as well as a radio adaptation of I Hate This. As an actor and director, David has worked at the Cleveland Play House, Great Lakes Theater, Cleveland Public Theatre, Dobama Theatre and Beck Center.
David has been a contributor to Muse, Angle and Cleveland magazines. He lives in Cleveland Heights.
